FBI Surveillance Van on the list of connections. I have been checking daily since. By 1:00Pm it is usually gone. If they check me they must be totally bored with the results. This Alachua County Florida. The only county in Northern Florida that went for Obama.

(44,228 posts)Nothing to worry about. Some clever person has named their router "FBI Surveillance Van", instead of "Smith Home" or "Jones Office" or whatever.
The real FBI Surveillance Van will have some innocuous name like "linksys".

Naming their wireless some similar seem to be a running joke with some people around here.
I have a couple of wireless routers laying around and have been thinking of doing that, but have been too lazy to dig them out.
Only instead of FBI, I'd use something like 'NSA Patrol13' or 'NSA Van8', or even 'NSA Neighborhood Watch4'. No need to have them hooked to a computer after renaming them.

(146,254 posts)Sort of. My router's open guest account is named "Free Wireless for All." It doesn't get used a lot, but it's there. I can tell when someone's using it, though. Usually, if I look out the window, there's some real estate agent on a laptop parked in front of my house.
Funny.
BTW, that guest wireless account has no access whatever to anything but the cable network. It's completely blocked, otherwise.
