Bill Clinton did a ton of stuff that I disagreed with, NAFTA, DOMA, DADT, Missile Strikes in Iraq

Welfare reform, Kosovo, Monica, and last but not least, he hired Dick Morris as one of his top advisors.

Yet, I still respected him as a president and a Democrat. In fact, many DUers revere him to this day, and sing his praises whenever he speaks in public.

Yes, some times we can disagree with our leaders without becoming rage monsters filled with hate.

who you see as failing your standards?
Bill can really give a speech, as can Obama. When that skill is untied from the daily policy and polling tides, it is easy to praise that skill. Obama can look forward to delivering speeches in the future that are not full of agenda needs as well. But if I said to you, 'sure Obama gives a great speech' you'd call that being a 'rage monster filled with hate'. Because your post is not about Bill or Barack, it is about the failures you see in all the sinners around you. You long for Meta, this is Meta OP. Extreme hyperbole about other DUers, crafted into OP form and flung with passive aggression at the wall, 'for Obama' of course. For Yavin4, that is the reality, you do this for your own pleasure, it is acting out and name calling, accusation and little else.
And personally, I see both Bill and Obama as elected public servants not as 'our leaders'. To me there is a huge and definitive difference in that bit of verbiage.

I think he was WAY overrated as a politician, and borderline incompetent, despite his intelligence. His ego definitely got in the way of his judgment.

That said, I am not filled with "hate" or "rage" at him, nor Obama. However, I am the target of a LOT of rage and hatred for DARING to criticize Obama for failing in the most basic ways to act morally and obey the rule of law.
