No doubt Bush would not have changed course

I am elated that Obama has!

I did not agree with threatening military strikes, and did not appreciate the oversell,
the "Munich moment", the exaggeration, etc. I found that frankly insulting.

However, I know war-horny Bush would never have changed course as Obama has.

I am also thrilled to see the GOP desperately, and unsuccessfully scrambling to spin this in their favor. That is somewhat entertaining.

Above all, though I am not the biggest Obama fan, I am very happy at the moment. And I will give thanks that Bush was not at the helm this time.

very reason you state. in each moment he evaluates. and is willing to shift where he needs to go, to do what he thinks is right. it makes him out to be a winner. and that is what is irritating people.

i am a great parent. not cause i hold my ground and never move from it. it is cause i am willing to look at every now, and think it thru. i listen. i think. i watch how one action causes a reaction. and allows me to get the best answers.

that is what obama was willing and is willing to do.

that is not what bush and repugs do. they stand firm. never shift, never move, never listen and why the repeatedly fail.

you are correct.

I feel that the "red line" and military stance was a foolish and dangerous gamble, for we have been just a hair's breath away from war.

Still, I recognize that Bush does not have a diplomatic bone in his body, and things could have been far worse. No matter what my opinion of Obama is, he is not Bush.

Obama was right that something needed to be done, and kept a bunch of options opened, found a good one, and jumped on it.

Took a lot of undeserved criticism for it too.

the neocons wanted that, but Bush didn't.

Bush wanted the Iraq War, which is why it happened. Obama does not want a Syria attack, which is why it might not happen.
