Graham later admitted to authorities that she had lied about Johnson's death and that she had shoved him off a cliff during an argument while hiking, according to a sworn statement by FBI Special Agent Steven Liss.
Graham said Johnson grabbed her arm during the dispute.
"Graham stated she could have just walked away, but due to anger, she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff," Liss said in the affidavit.

(15,189 posts)I thought you were just being funny, then I read the article. She actually said that.
At least she was nice enough to let him see the place before he died. If he only knew.

(37,573 posts)to explain how she found his body.
She didn't push him off the cliff and then quickly report a "hiking accident". Instead she pushed him off the cliff and then went home and told his family/friends that he had gone somewhere with somebody. She did not even think to report him missing, his employer did.
"Johnson was reported missing July 8 when he failed to show up for work. Graham later reported that she had spotted his body."

Although I just noticed my link - "the daily news". Really? Is that a reputable source?

Hey, I tied this into the war argument. Bomb a country to make them stop killing. Hmmmm....

(37,573 posts)did he end up with his back to her, right in front of a cliff during an argument?
Another article says this
"At one point, she turned to walk away, but Johnson grabbed her arm, she said. She turned around, removed his hand from her arm and "due to her anger, she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back, and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff," an affidavit states."

Uhm, she cannot possibly "remove his hand from her arm" and then "push him in the back".
The story does not make sense.
She maybe wanted to get caught, since she "discovered" the body instead of just reporting her husband missing. Took two months of investigating before she was charged.

(6,342 posts)They had an argument. She pushed him over. She admits it.
She's got some serious problems
Nobody is shocked at all that Graham is suspected in her husbands murder, according to Maness. Shed been telling people she knew she never wanted to be married, she just wanted to have a wedding, and thats apparently what they were arguing about.
She kept continuing to lie, she kept changing her story, Maness says. She showed no grief and she would not speak to Codys mother.

I mean, how does he just happen to turn his back to her, right next to a cliff, when they are arguing? That is the part of the story that does not make sense. How does he end up close enough to a cliff to be pushed over, especially facing the cliff?
The details don't add up to me.
I try to play the scenario in my head, and it just does not work.

(37,573 posts)I notice several differences.
This article says "family members" reported him missing on the 10th. Famiily members (generic) rather that wife (specific) Also they say the 10th rather than the 8th. They also say that his body was spotted on the 12th, but don't mention WHO spotted it (later reported to be his wife). http://www.flatheadbeacon.com/articles/article/kalispell_mans_death_under_investigation/34476

(24,156 posts)You are having a hard time understanding the concept of a "confession" aren't you?
She confessed and admitted pushing him over the cliff however difficult that may be for you to picture in your head.
hfojvt
(37,573 posts)thank you very much.
A confession that does not add up may not be true. If somebody confesses to stabbing the victim to death, it's not a good confession if the victim was actually shot. If they confess to shooting with a 9 mm, it doesn't work if victim was shot with a 22.
So maybe she is guilty and the media just does not know how to accurately report details. Or maybe the police don't.
Maybe they browbeat her into a confession. Maybe she confessed to protect a guy she was having an affair with. Maybe she confessed because she feels guilty because she laughed when he tripped.
I'm not her defense lawyer and she's not the love of my life or anything, I just cannot put it together.
Scenario 1 - they are standing there arguing. At some point in the argument, he turns around and walks to the edge of a cliff, where she pushes him off. (as the story tells it - she pushed him from behind).
Scenario 2 - They are walking down a trail side by side and arguing. Husband is closest to the cliff. If she stops, lets him get ahead and pushes him from behind, he is just gonna fall forward onto the path, unless they happen to be at a spot where the path turns sharply. Otherwise, she needs to push him from the side - not from the back.
Scenario 3 - they are walking along arguing. He stops to tie his shoe, turning to face the cliff as he does so, at which point she gives him a good shove. In this scenario, and a number of other possible scenarios, there is a reason for him to turn his back on her and face the edge of the cliff. HOWEVER, that reason has been left out of the story, and without SOME such reason - the story does not make sense to me.
