Anti-war Democrat declares victory on Syria: We did it

At least one House Democrat is claiming victory in the debate over military action in Syria.
Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), an ardent opponent of military action, just tweeted the following in response to apparent diplomatic progress over Syria turning over its chemical weapons:

In an accompanying Tumblr post, Grayson is more cautious, acknowledging that military action could still occur.
But he credits himself with bringing about the diplomatic option.
After three frenetic weeks, during which time Team Grayson was burning the midnight oil every night, its time to take stock of what weve accomplished, Grayson said, before listing several headlines describing the diplomatic process.
Graysons We did it tweet met with a chorus of retorts from people noting that nothing is set in stone.

This happened only because of our work. To his credit, President Obama listened. He listened to Congress, to the voices of allies around the world asking us to pause, and most importantly, to We the People of These United States. But you spoke, President Obama listened, and now peace may bloom.
