Support for President Obama's health care law appears to be waning, a new poll indicates.

CNN Breaking News Email:

"Support for President Obama's health care law appears to be waning, a new poll indicates. The proportion of people saying that they favor all or most of its provisions dropped to 39%, down from 51% in January.

The CNN/ORC International survey also found that 51% of those responding would blame congressional Republicans more if a looming budget battle results in a government shutdown; a third said they would hold the president more responsible.

Looking to take the President down a peg or two? Giving right wingers more ammo for defunding Obamacare? Not odd at all.

Until or unless a repeal is passed by Congress and signed by a willing POTUS, Obamacare is the law of the land. Republicans have no alternative but to go back to the way things were before and I doubt that many (any?) people actually want that. I still can't figure out what so many people supposedly have a problem with in terms of the law aside from perhaps believing some of the big lies that Republicans have promulgated since the law was passed and signed into law in 2010. People are always somewhat afraid of or worried about any big changes in general but I have yet to meet the person who wants to go back to not having pre-existing conditions covered, not having their birth control covered, not being able to carry children on policies until age 26. The only people whom seem to be against the law are those whom already have fancy coverage and think that Obamacare is going to take away something from them and give something to a "freeloader".

but I'm not really as upset or concerned about progressive opposition to Obamacare as I am about Republican lies because everybody here wants the law expanded and/or replaced with an actual viable alternative (i.e. single payer). Even though I think that Obamacare was the best we could get at the time and didn't support the "kill the bill" mentality of some here, I would like to eventually see the adoption of a single payer system and see Obamacare as being the first brick in the path there. Right wingers, on the other hand, just want to go back to what we had before which was a "go crawl into a gutter and die if you can't afford/obtain health insurance coverage or pay for it out of your pocket" sysem that favored the wealthy and elite. Their fighting to return us to THAT system is morally offensive to me.

so deal with it, hatriots! Somebody will be by soon to explain how all the cool stuff you want to keep about health care changes are directly attributable to the "Obamacare" you supposedly can't stand.

And it simply isn't fair that insurance companies can no longer refuse to cover people with a pre-existing condition.

And those extra taxes on the rich to fund affordable coverage for the poor are just too much of a burden for the 1%. Yacht fuel is expensive these days.

So I kind of favor that percentage over some made up CNN pollshit.

Yet this is how misleading these polls can be: If someone called to poll me, I'd tell 'em I'm disappointed in some of the provisions. I favored single payer from the start, so there's that, and I also hope to see certain changes in the law implemented as it gets rolled out. We have to implement either single payer or figure out someway to . But though my support of some of the plan's provisions is low, that doesn't equate in the least to losing my support of the plan as a whole.

Approval would be at 70%. The only ones opposed would be death-for-profit healthcare companies and the Limpballs extremists.

CNN is not beyond push polling to stir up a headline or two. What we do know is if you ask people if they like the specifics of the plan it gets big support but if you ask them if they are in favor of a big new expensive socialist program forced down their throats by a Kenyan born Muslim Socialist - well - you get a different result.

I smell right wing bullshit.

health insurance, depending on what plan they choose

I expect to do the same with another 15-20 uninsured folks tomorrow.

You would not believe how ignorant some conservatives are.

They are on food stamps, and then have the nerve to tell me that Obama's socialized medicine is going to destroy the country.
