Here are the plans available so far in Washington state. The insurers list rates for both ON the exchange and OFF the exchange. Why would people be buying it other than on the exchange?

(56,582 posts)So, if your employer has a plan that you don't like, you will want to buy individual insurance, but can't use the exchange.
That might also be an attempt by WA to show people how much the exchange saves them.

(108,955 posts)Also, an employer's plan has to meet the ACA requirements; or if it doesn't, people can buy on the exchange.

(11,495 posts)The only thing I can think of is that some people hate Obamacare so much they won't use the exchanges. I read about some in other states making remarks that this was happening. For some of the tea publicans it's all about "not" doing anything that might help Obamacare be a success, it's all about trying to do everything they can to stop it from becoming the law of the land.

(11,495 posts)I did find out which companies will be offering plans in the different areas, but nothing yet about what they will offer. It was at Washington healthplanfinder. I haven't spent much time looking it up yet, been busy, but I think more will be coming out this month. I did find out where to go locally to talk to someone to help with any question. I probably will do that in the next week or two.
