I think Obama is on the right path with Syria.

But I don't know if he can stay on that path?

The CIA is already giving small arms to the rebels. I don't see how that helps unless it forces the Russians and Assad not to delay the matter of gathering and destroying the chemical weapons. I'm thinking the CIA may be involved with the rebels, even Al Qaeda, because they may already have their hands on some of the chemical weapons? That would just be a hunch.

There is a lot of negotiating ahead. Will Assad stay in power? Will the US stop arming the "rebels"? Where will the chemical weapons be destroyed? How do they stop the civil war? Will they set deadlines to get it done?

But the intelligence and military leaders of America do not want peace. They do not like the path that Obama is on. They will do everything in their power to get him to change direction. How long before he decides to go forward with the bombing?

My hope is that he ignores the polls and the advice of his generals and the NSA and does what he thinks is the right thing for America. That does not include going to another war. If he can resolve this terrible crisis, he would be more than deserving of another Nobel Peace Prize, in my opinion.

But it will not be easy. I don't know if he has the courage and the strength to oppose the Military Industrial Complex?
