Actor and filmmaker Jarrod Factor jailed for child pornography offences
A Melbourne actor and filmmaker who claimed taking medication to stop his hair thinning had caused him to commit child pornography offences has been jailed for a year.
County Court Chief Judge Michael Rozenes said Jarrod Reuven Factor, 31, who has had roles with Bell Shakespeare and the Melbourne Theatre Company, would contact young girls over the internet and ask them to perform sexual acts for him.
"Yours is a serious example of this offending," Judge Rozenes told Factor who had a bit part in the comedy film The Dish on Friday.
"You engaged in this conduct over an extended period of time, with multiple females, and sometimes on a daily basis.
"Your offending was entrenched.
"You emphasised the youth of the victim in your discussions. You emphasised the disparity in your ages and you relished the role of an older person engaging and corrupting a young girl.
