This is the Health Resources Services Administration. You can find federally funded clinics and hospitals nearest you. Take a look at the site. It won't close all of the gap. But it can help.

(22,541 posts)HRSA health centers care for you, even if you have no health insurance. You pay what you can afford, based on your income. Health centers provide
checkups when you're well
treatment when you're sick
complete care when you're pregnant
immunizations and checkups for your children
dental care and prescription drugs for your family
mental health and substance abuse care if you need it
Health centers are in most cities and many rural areas. Type in your address and click the 'Find Health Centers' button to find health centers near you.

(22,541 posts)might be able to use this. I hope so. They even have specialists who will use their sliding scale so patients only pay what they can afford. Even if it is zero dollars.

(46,179 posts)It turns out that I will pay the exact same copay and deductible at a health center as I would getting care anywhere else.
That's why I can't afford care. There is no money in the budget to pay for the care after I've already paid for the insurance.
This is something I truly don't understand.
Why is it that people somehow think that paying for insurance, and still having to pay for the care after you've paid the premium, is somehow "affordable?"
Why is it that people somehow think that if everyone has insurance, they can afford to get actual care?
For more years than I want to count, I've had insurance that I couldn't afford to use.

Anyone may use a community health care center, whether you have health insurance or not. How much you pay is based on a sliding scale at each facility. To find out more, contact your local community health care center.

The Health Center in your area will be your best resource since economic situations differ so widely from one city or state to the next.
