Troops oppose strikes on Syria by 3-1 margin

The survey conducted online Monday and Tuesday found that about 75 percent of troops are not in favor of air strikes in response to reports that the Syrian government used chemical weapons to kill civilians in that country.

A higher percentage of troops, about 80 percent, say they do not believe getting involved in the two-year-old civil war is in the U.S. national interest.

The results suggest that opposition inside the military may be more intense than among the U.S. population at large. About 64 percent of Americans oppose air strikes, according to a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll published Monday.

The Military Times survey is an unscientific sampling of Military Times readers and reflects the views of many career enlisted members and officers

They will go when and where they are told or they will be courtmartialed and tried for treason.

Article 90 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) makes it a crime for a military member to WILLFULLY disobey a superior commissioned officer. Article 91 makes it a crime to WILLFULLY disobey a superior Noncommissioned or Warrant Officer. Article 92 makes it a crime to disobey any lawful order (the disobedience does not have to be "willful" under this article).

None of what you just said constitutes treason. Try a little harder next time.

You've listed the insubordination articles, though treason is 104.

Insubordination is not treason.

15. Take my prior advice. Know the definition of treason before throwing it around...

Especially toward those who refuse to fight. That is not treason and it's quite dastardly that anyone would suggest otherwise.

5. At least there is discussion and thinking on this attack. And people are left to think

what they want. No bullying, not much propaganda. A much better American response to the idea of a 'simple attack' than what America did under George W. Bush and Iraq.

9. It would be funny if all countries had to let their troops decide or vote on if to go to war or not.

And not the billionaires that hide behind a desk. Think the numbers would be close? I don't.
