I have an 80 year old aunt who is a racist. A young man who used to do my yard in the 80's is in with the white supremacy people now. None of them ever carried any kind of arms. I think racism spans all manner of class, gender, etc. I don't think guns have much to do with it. Back in the sixties and early seventies I thought in my lifetime I would see it disappear but it seems these people inoculate the next generation with the hatred.

Sun Sep 15, 2013, 04:47 AM

I thought I'd read something to that effect in his autobiography. In surfing the "tubes" I found this:

PLAYBOY: Are you contradicting yourself by denouncing white supremacy while praising its practitioners, since you admit that you share their goal of separation?

MALCOLM X: The fact that I prefer the candor of the Southern segregationist to the hypocrisy of the Northern integrationist doesn't alter the basic immorality of white supremacy. A devil is still a devil whether he wears a bed sheet or a Brooks Brothers suit. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches separation simply because any forcible attempt to integrate America completely would result in another Civil War, a catastrophic explosion among whites which would destroy America--and still not solve the problem. But Mr. Muhammad's solution of separate black and white would solve the problem neatly for both the white and black man, and America would be saved. Then the whole world would give Uncle Sam credit for being something other than a hypocrite.

Klan used to hold rallies in different places. We knew where those places where. We knew where to avoid. What always pissed me off is when northerners and people from the West and Midwest claim that racism is not as bad or even doesn't exist, but some of my worst experiences with racism occurred when I lived in Jersey and Chicago. To me, that's scarier because people swear that they aren't racist when they are. They don't even realize their behavior!!
