I've heard nothing about it for quite some time. Is it over? Did they give him the murder weapon back?

(11,065 posts)As for the fed case, I'm sure Holder will be warming his butt on it for a couple more winters.

(8,155 posts)Isn't that why there was a big fuss from the gun nuts to buy him a new one? Am I remembering this correctly?

(11,065 posts)They were going to give it back after his acquittal but that was put on hold a few days later because of the fed case. He was entitled to buy another one though which is probably why the gun nuts were sending him money to buy one... or a whole arsenal. There were tons of articles announcing he was getting it back but very little about that decision being put on hold, but I did find this article about that....

(16,038 posts)there is nothing to charge him with federally in the Martin case that wouldn't constitute double jeopardy..

(23,756 posts)that's what happened with the Klan in the 60's they were acquitted of murder but a bunch of them did time for Federal Civil Rights violations.

(16,038 posts)I have seen nothing which would be chargeable in any of the stories or testimony..

(16,038 posts)and there were no witnesses, friends, relatives, or acquaintances, who I have seen, who make any claims he is a racist. Someone who is a racist usually don't keep it a secret. I wish he'd been convicted too, but we can't nor should we encourage or wish the law be twisted to convict someone who is acquitted, no matter who they are or what they have done..
There simply is no "civil rights violation" to charge him with.
