why do tea baggers always spell words incorrectly on their protest signs?

I have seen several signs on the net not spelled correctly and this past weekend I went past a small crowd of tea bagger protesters and just about every sign had at least one spelling error.

Though the man’s identity is unknown, the photo was taken on March 23rd, 2003 outside of St. Louis, Missouri.1 On that day, approximately 350 pro-peace activists got together with civilian weapons inspectors at the Boeing missile factory, asking to investigate the weapons of mass destruction being produced there. When they were denied access, the protestors sat in front of the main gate in protest. Approximately 75 pro-war supporters came to the factory with signs discouraging the sit-in. One of these supporters held the “Get a Brain Morans” sign. The photo was initially shared on the St. Louis Indymedia Center2 in 2003.

I have been to a ton of progressive cause protests and very rarely do I see a sign that has words spelled incorrectly, but when I go past a tea bag protest it seems to me that almost always, there are a bunch of spelling errors very noticeable. Is it that they don't care? Was spelling not taught where they grew up? Is there a brain wiring thing?

What you are seeng is anti intellectualism on display. There is a certain disdain for knowledge, for knowledge sake. This includes spelling. Also the base of the GOP tends to be working class and ess educated, truly voting against their best interests.

That is a general statement. During the Filner scandal his supporters came from the same component of society but, people with English skills helped supporters without them. Which brings me to the second point, tea baggers are highly individualistic.

Hope this helps..

Some may come from the religious fundy backgrounds, and the bad schooling.

A lot of it is exploitation and marketing. I'll bet Koch funded groups like FreedomWorks deliberately misspell a lot of the signs they pass out to their teabagger hordes, so as to seem more folksy.

They don't think about contrast or font or size of letters. I've seen business signs painted on plywood here in Dorkville that have unreadable script on them. Readable garage sale signs....fuhgeddaboudit!!

I've also noticed tea baggers don't plan where the letters go...they run out of room on the right side of the poster oftentimes.

Anti-intellectualism, anti-artistic and creative, lack of planning, impulsiveness.

The misspelling of signs is a clue into why they are teabaggers in the first place, you would think if you are going to a protest rally with a sign you would take 10 seconds to make sure you spelled it correctly but they don't.

They don't fact check to make sure the things they believe are true and have been tested, Its very easy to find this info online by simply fact checking to the source and looking at government data from around the world.

The results of teabagger political belief is horrifying and very easy to find from both history and current governments,They just don't care if what they believe is correct or not, they simply assume it is just like their signs.
