Who had given her notice just before today's gun culture created tragedy happened, and was on duty to take care of the victims.
A must watch.
This was just from a tease tossed by Rachel. I don't have all the details, but this is her...
Dr. Janet Orlowski:
There is something evil in our society that we as Americans have to eradicate, she said.
I may see this every day in her role as chief medical officer, she said. But there is something wrong with these multiple shootings, multiple injuries. I would like you to put my trauma center out of business.
Here implication was crystal clear: there are too many guns on our streets.

(22,000 posts)I don't blame her. With the way things are doctors, EMTs, nurses, and staff are all in more danger than ever. Some gangbanger comes in with a GSW he may have a gun. I don't know what the survival rate is for those kinds of injuries, but the treatment is complex and uses up resources making it harder for everyone else to get healthcare. The people that are out there playing grudge match with guns are nuts.
