Meet the 87-year-olds wearing Doc Martens and mini-skirts:

SNIP

For Bridget Sojourner, 75, it is not catalogues but charity shops that fuel her passion for fashion.

Despite subsisting on a pension of just £100 a week, she cuts a striking figure in her crimson turban and chunky jewels.

On her shopping list are flowing dresses vibrant scarlet and black, which she combines with eye-catching costume jewellery, uber-glamorous hats and her most recent purchase, a £4 pair of Doc Marten boots.

'Style, as one gets older, is more noticeable,' she explains. 'How I look is to do with my identity and the fun of it. It’s nothing to do with looking younger.'

I'm 75 and still in jeans and T-shirts. May not look the best, but I'm comfortable. I just kinda passed the 75 mark and didn't notice I was supposed to dress in matronly clothes. Sorry!

Besides, who determined what age OLD is, anyway?

for the first time.
Inevitably he will ask the woman about it and most women answer that pants are
comfortable and appropriate for work..and the man will shake his head as to agree and that is
the end of that...

Tikki ps..
This Summer on vacation, along the West Coast, I twice saw men wearing a sarong..and neither was Pacific Islanders.

saves time and money.

My daughter has always bought her clothes at 2nd hand shops and looks fashionable all the time. I don't know how she does it. She has taught her son to do the same and he is always so well-dressed. It's amazing how many outfits they find that still have the price tags. Besides, my grandson loves the jeans that are "broken in" so to speak.

I compliment her. Style is important to how they express themselves and it makes them feel good to show off sometimes, so they really appreciate attention and compliments. I wish I had a grandma like that, but my grandmas are both dead, unfortunately.
