What Does It Tell Us When We Hear That Senators And Congressmen Are Afraid Of The NRA?.....

What are they afraid of? Are they worried that the NRA will shoot them or their families with guns? I don't think so. So what are they afraid of?

Hmmmm..... maybe that they might lose their job. I'm thinking that this is what it boils down to. These legislators don't have the courage of their convictions of their beliefs on gun issues.

No - bottom line - they're just afraid that they might lose their job.

If they really ran for office to help make things better for their constituents then they shouldn't have to worry about their job if they do the right thing. Their constituents will reward them for doing the right thing and re-elect them. They shouldn't have to be afraid of the NRA and losing their job.

Now what does that mean? Oh - that it kind of puts the blame on the People here (their constituents) for lack of any progress on gun issues.

We The People haven't supported our elected officials to the point that we make them comfortable in doing what is right for us.

Kinda sucks - doesn't it.

Ads full of lies, of course.

Non-gun-owners don't have to do anything to continue to not own guns. Therefore their motivation to vote based on the issue is necessarily going to be less than a person who has to continue to work to continue to own guns.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

We can't even get universal background checks passed even though the majority of the population favors them. I don't think gun owners have anything to worry about anytime soon.

.. rifle that can accept a magazine a crime.

That's a majority of the rifles made today.

Off the top of my head, that's the first thing that came to mind. Not national, but California tends to lead in gun control proposals, so smart interested parties tend to watch California to see what's likely coming down the pike.

eta: Looked it up, Senate Bill 374, rifles.
