http://thegrio.com/2013/09/16/zimmerman-trial-medical-examiner-prosecutors-police-threw-the-case/<snip>
The medical examiner who testified in the George Zimmerman trial says his office, state prosecutors and police had no interest in convicting the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin and set him up to take the blame for a failed prosecution.
As for Sanford police, Bao and his attorney say the detectives investigating the case failed to show up for the autopsy on Martins body, something he called unusual.
In an autopsy normally, even in the case of suicide, they come to review the results of the autopsy, watch the autopsy, they can ask and answer questions, Bao said. They come all the time. But in this case they said, this is a straightforward case of self-defense and they looked at the case as being over, so they never came. So theres no way we can give them the evidence. They never talked to me, I never talked to them. They dont know what I did, I dont know what they did. We never had any interaction.

(9 posts)I'm still not clear what the revelation is supposed to be. I read a few days ago that it was that Martin was shot in the back but that was retracted so...
Is it that the investigators didn't come to the autopsy?

(13,141 posts)that nobody wanted Zimmerman convicted,
& perhaps misused him as a witness -- for which he
was then fired from his job.

which he reminded the court numerous times. He also said he had no opinion of the relative body positions during the shooting. There's little information he can offer the case.
If you assume that not everyone in the police and DA's office is evil and racist, it even supports the fact that they didn't prosecute because they didn't think it fell out of the bounds of self defense.
The kangaroo court has a faith-based belief that it was unprovoked, cold-blooded, racially-motivated murder. No amount of evidence can change that opinion.
Sanford police chief, Bill Lee, lost his job for refusing to push for a malicious prosecution: http://www.cnn.com/2013/07/10/justice/sanford-bill-lee-exclusive/index.html
The George Zimmerman investigation was hijacked "in a number of ways" by outside forces, said the former police chief of Sanford, Florida.
Bill Lee, who testified Monday in Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial, told CNN's George Howell in an exclusive interview that he felt pressure from city officials to arrest Zimmerman to placate the public rather than as a matter of justice.
"It was (relayed) to me that they just wanted an arrest. They didn't care if it got dismissed later," he said. "You don't do that."
It had nothing to do with Florida's controversial "Stand Your Ground" law, he said; from an investigative standpoint, it was purely a matter of self-defense.

Bao says he believes based on his experience and autopsies he has performed in similar cases, that Martin might have lived for one to ten minutes after he was shot and that he would have been in pain. But Gary says that when Bao tried to raise these points with the prosecution team, the attitude was, why are you doing this? Are you working for Trayvon? He said, Im not working for Trayvon Martin, Im just trying to get to the truth. But their attitude was that you are working for Trayvon.

(18,101 posts)He also changed his opinion on how long TM could have been alive, after being shot, several days before he testified, and didn't bother to inform anyone until he was on the stand.

but he seems to have gotten a dose of sodium pentothal after he was fired. It's good to see what's been going on in the background.

(18,101 posts)He was asked the questions. Maybe he doesn't realize that the trial was recorded, but his lawyer damn sure knows. Florida doesn't have a statute of limitations on perjury in a murder trial. There's no penalty for lying to a journalist - unless someone sues for slander.
If you didn't watch Bao's testimony during the trial, I recommend going to youtube and watching it. He was a horrible witness. Sometimes it was funny, but mostly it was just embarrassing.
Here are links to recent DU discussions on his current claims.

(24,721 posts)the corrupt system under which he had to function. It was his way of getting the truth into the record.
Example from your first link:
Gary said prosecutors never asked Dr. Bao a question crucial to their case.
"He wanted a question that would have allowed him to explain to the jury with scientific evidence how there was no way Trayvon Martin could have been on top of George Zimmerman," Gary said.
Gary said that question never came.

(18,101 posts)and answer that contradicts his claim. It works for me. If it doesn't, it's at around the 42:23 mark.
