Simply put--Maureen Dowd is an idiot--check out her latest whopper about Obama.

"The man who connected so electrically and facilely in 2008, causing Americans to overlook his thin résumé, cannot seem to connect anymore.'
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/09/18/opinion/dowd-losing-the-room.html?hp&_r=0

I've said it before a 1000 times and I'll say it again a 1000 more times--- 90 percent of the media in this country is responsible for the read it once and believe it idiots.

Mo Dowd fashions beltway bubble narratives to remain relevant at the village cocktail parties.

She is no better than Coulter, Limbaugh, or any other talking head who exists simply because they are good at conjuring up flame throwing phrases that stick on the cerebral cortex of Morans.

“The president is a very muddled and entrenched figure who needs to get out of a defensive crouch and get some fresh ideas.” Like repealing the ACA 40 times, demanding unspecific cuts and holding hostages?

7. Obama refused to fawn over Diva Dowd

She turned her snippiness on him with a vengeance.

Her columns now suck - not just because of her attacks on Obama - her writing is not as concise and sometimes her topics have nothing to do with current events, and most likely everything to do with promoting a friend's or family member's activity.

She lost her edge and her humor.

Gail Collins is SO much better.

I found her obnoxious in her writings before she was given her own column. Now I stopped reading her altogether.

Its theater criticism.

Sort of like ...

"The lighting could have been better."

or better ... "My seat was uncomfortable."

I was watching Morning Joe yesterday while I was working out, and they were in an uproar about Obama's speech after the shooting. He didn't "comfort" the country enough, blah, blah, blah.

I imagine he's sick of comforting. It doesn't do any good. It doesn't make anybody feel any better and it does nothing in the way of getting Congress to pass any gun legislation. People apparently don't really give a shit, so he probably was trying to find something worthwhile to talk about.

One thing I've been critical of Obama about in the past is his reluctance to go there with Republicans. He doesn't usually hit them hard enough about their obstruction. He's too damn stoic. I'm glad he said what he said. He needs to keep doing it until election time next year. He needs to tell the people that we're never going to get anything done in this country if they keep electing Republicans. Be as blunt as he can be without cursing too much. I liked what he said and I hope he keeps doing it.

he called their tactics "extortion" which is true and which it's frustrating that he hasn't said similar before. I hear people complaining about the GOP tactics but I can only get outraged up to a point if the Democrats are enabling them. If it's just kabuki theater. Does Obama saying "extortion" mean it's not kabuki anymore? Probably not, but who knows.

Anyway, that's what matters and pundits like Dowd hate it when politics in D.C. threaten to become relevant for regular people.

If they were judge by the accuracy of their statements they'd all be out of work

If they were judge by the accuracy of their prediction they'd all be out of work

Instead they get paid to produce fiction on a semi-regular basis that has no proven benefit to humanity.
