Stabbing suspect dies after shot by officer in Winter Garden

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. —A suspect accused of stabbing their roommate has died after being shot by a Winter Garden police officer.

The incident happened at the Park Avenue Villas early Wednesday.

Officials said they were called to the apartment because someone had been stabbed.

When the first officer arrived he located the suspect, who he said ran toward him.

According to the officer, he then fired a single shot at the stabbing suspect, hitting the suspect in the torso.

The suspect was then rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but died several hours later.
