Great Prognostications in American Conservative History

I'll add a recent one:

You can't enact Obamacare or the economy will collapse.

. . .("Even though we coined the term "Obamacare" ourselves as a slur, we hate it if it's called that. We like it OK if it's called the Affordable Care Act. We hate "Obamacare" so much that we wasted $1.45 million taxpayer dollars over 41 times trying to repeal the evil socialist "Obamacare" stuff. That means we wasted about $59.45 million taxpayer dollars because we hate "Obamacare. The ACA is OK with us though.&quot <--- GOP

All caused by Republican policies (deregulating, cutting taxes, sending work overseas for cheap labor and tax evasion)

Social Security, Obamacare etc. are not the reasons the economy is in trouble. Two wars and huge tax cuts for the rich, and Medicare Part D are the bulk of our current debt and the rest (loss of decent-paying jobs, loss of revenue, etc) is a direct result of bad GOP economic policy ie: "shrink government so we can drown it in women's vaginas" type rule.

More than the economy has collapsed, though. Democracy as it was once envisioned is gone, bought up by the banksters & corporations.

Privacy has collapsed, invaded by both the government and commercial interests.

Freedom has collapsed, as witness our out-of-control militarized police.

than the current state of affairs.

Currency worth nothing, prices going out of anyone but the very rich's range, no law and order - something like Somalia.
