PBO's Speech On Economy & Jobs On The Day Of The Shooting At The Navy Yard......

Am I understanding this correctly - The President is being chastised for giving a speech on the economy and jobs and criticizing the Repugs in it on the day of the mass shooting at the Navy Yard?

I listened to that speech in its entirety thanks to CSPAN - no help from the cable news stations - because they cut away from it when he got to the part where he came down hard on the Repugs for obstruction.

Both CNN & MSNBC cut away from his speech just as he started to come down on the Repugs and they both went back to showing the same clips and saying the same things they were saying all morning about the shooting.

I had to quickly turn to CSPAN to hear the rest of the President's speech.

I didn't know that there was an unwritten law that the President can't criticize the Repugs during a mass shooting.

I just can't believe that I'm hearing this a.m. that the President is now being criticized for giving that speech. That he should have cancelled it because of the shooting.

I really think that the powers that be are happy that he continued giving his speech - because they had felt they had a good reason to not air it and let the American Public know how the President feels about the Repugs obstruction.

If anything I think the President needs to give the speech again and blast the Repugs again. He needs to keep hammering them on their obstructionism.

I really don't see why he should ever be quiet about any of it. If anything, he hasn't been loud and persistent enough.
