Some of you might remember me posting about google siting one of their Data Centers here

Even though I don't use google, due to their privacy policy, they have been a good fit for our local industrial park.

PRYOR - Google Inc. has purchased the former Gatorade plant adjacent to its data center in MidAmerica Industrial Park.

The purchase price for the 1.4 million-square-foot vacant building was not disclosed, and Google has no immediate plans to develop the structure or site, the Internet giant stated in a news release Thursday.

"The purchase of the idled facility across from our data center is a logical choice given our ongoing partnership with the MidAmerica Industrial Park," Mike Wooten, Google Oklahoma data center operations manager, said in the release. "MidAmerica continues to be a strong partner for us here in Oklahoma and we appreciate their proactive and pro-business approach."

The building, which PepsiCo Inc. built for $180 million in 2008, manufactured Gatorade and other sports drinks. Two years later, the company said demand for such products had declined and closed the plant, laying off 108 people.
