More oil, gas damage reported through Weld (Colorado)

The oil and gas carnage in Weld County has grown with now three exploration companies noting problems due to flooding, and almost 22,000 gallons of oil either on the ground or washed away by floodwaters.

As of Friday afternoon, four spills had been reported by Anadarko Petroleum Corp., and one by Bayswater Exploration. An oil rig operated by PDC Energy was reported to have washed away in the floodwaters.

The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission estimates roughly 22,000 gallons of oil spilled from the Anadarko sites, alone. The Bayswater spill equated to about 882 gallons of oil.

How can that ever be cleaned up? And, it's probably not even the half of the polluting damage that's going on because of the floods. I read that the plutonium storage at Rocky Flats was underwater.

but like with Katrina...and NJ/NY, Vermont with Hurricane Sandy...they are probably out of power and surviving and coping and have little time to be posting here about their situations.
