Two fights broke out at the Apple Store in Pasadena on Friday morning after police say several homeless men who were hired to stand in line for the release of the new iPhone were denied purchases.
Two men were arrested in front of the Colorado Boulevard store about 7:30 a.m. after getting into a fistfight that spilled into the street, police said. A third man was also taken into custody.
Police said a man hired the transients from downtown Los Angeles in a scheme to buy several iPhones and sell them on the black market. When Apple employees found out, they denied the men iPhones, and that triggered the fights, police said.
The man who allegedly hired the homeless men fled the scene.

When I was a much younger man my brother-in-law-to-be bought me my tickets to stand in line for him for Return of the Jedi. While waiting in line another couple approached me and gave me money to buy their tickets as well. Got to see it for free, had my food paid for, and a few extra left over. No fights broke out though

(62,444 posts)And if these products were sold by a government office, you would be able to hire poor people to go pick them up for you in order to evade limits on purchases?
Is that the idea?
What specifically happened here that would be somehow "solved" by nationalization of phone service and related products? Spell out the steps.
All businesses?
