We better not spike the football before we reach the end zone.

The GOP is cannibalizing itself with it anti Obama zeal. Their fanaticism presents us with a golden opportunity to keep the Senate and take back the House. It also affords us the chance to change the political frame of reference that has been in ascendancy since Reagan. To seize the opportunity, the Democratic Party needs to call out the Republicans for what they are: not just defenders of the super-wealthy, but destroyers of the middle class and hateful enemies of the poor.
The GOP, not just the Tea Party, is dedicated to destroying the livelihoods of teachers, public employees, postal workers and any vestige of the strong middle class built by FDR, the Unions and the Liberal wing of the Democratic Party.
Obama needs to take the lead but Congressional Democrats need to wage the battle as well by recruiting non-Blue Dog candidates and funding their races. Those of us in the rank and file need to work like we did in 2008. We have a real chance to alter the destructive trajectory that Reagan and the RW has put us on. Democrats, we all need to do our jobs.

... that there is no such thing anymore as a moderate Republican. That is a point that needs to get hammered home again and again.

I suspect the Democrats are up to the task though.
