Parents want to sue ex-NFLer for outing brats

Parents of the hundreds of teens who broke into and destroyed former NFLer Brian Holloway’s upstate vacation home are threatening to sue him for outing their brats on Twitter — saying he’s spoiling their chances of getting into college.
http://nypost.com/2013/09/20/parents-want-to-sue-former-nfler-for-outing-their-hard-partying-brats/

Parents of kids who broke into Brian Holloway’s home complained that posting photos like these will ruin the teens’ college changesTwitter

“You would not believe the calls that have come in, threatening to firebomb me or hurt or sue me — any manner of things,” the stunned Holloway told The Post Thursday as he toiled away cleaning up the damage at his 200-acre spread in Rensselaer County.

The teens defaced Holloway’s home with graffitiTwitter

“Some complained that this will ruin their kids’ college plans. Others have threatened me, saying ‘Take my kid’s name down or I’m gonna press charges against you.’

The posted photos of themselves partying in the former NFLers’ vacation homeTwitter

“You’re going to press charges against me? C’mon, now. If that were one of my children, they would be doing a year’s worth of apologizing,” said Holloway, a father of eight.

And that's what's wrong with entitled little shits today. Screw that, he's a better person than I.
Because I would turn around and sue their parents for the damages.

The story about them trashing his house, I was impressed (with him, not the teens) despite myself. Part of me wanted to write him off because he has enough that this won't be a huge setback in his life--but he was really decent about it and obviously didn't deserve it.

Now this? He wouldn't even have had their pictures if they didn't post them to the net to begin with. What complete and utter bullshit. I hope he reports all threats and that those threatening violence are arrested and charged. I hope anyone who tries to sue him fail miserably and are publicly humiliated for their trouble.

Teenagers of this generation actually believe that they are entitled to anything and their parents would do anything to protect their brats' future even if these same brats who trashed that house, a property that aren't their's.

Parents of brats, open your wallets and drain your accounts to pay up for your brats' actions!

I almost bought a summer home in Stephentown a few years back (when I had money!) It's quaint, there are a lot of 18th and 19th century houses in on the main route through town but there is a lot of trailer trash too and there arent many jobs either. People in the area tend to be conservative, tea party types--aspirational Republicans who think they're eventually going to be part of the 1%. The wealthier people tend to live in the Berkshires, which aren't far off (the taxes are lower too) and have lots of great cultural attractions like Tanglewood and Jacobs Pillow, lots of great little museums and wonderful restaurants.

Asshole kids come from asshole parents, irrespective of household income.

I hope these kids get arrested and charged.

The general area, not Stephentown specifically.

And while I dislike painting with a broad brush, it is generally are more conservative crowd upstate, heavily Republican. You'll often hear them speak disdainfully about New York City and minorities, and so there's a bit of schadenfreude here with me seeing that upstaters show everyone that they can be just as bad as anyone else.

I can't imagine what the sheriff would've done if gang members were holding a break-in house party like this. Are they so naive that those kids are not flight risks, or they knew they'd get quickly bailed out anyway?

(Edit) This ABC article reports:

During the party, Holloway was at his full-time home in Lutz, Fla. By the time he notified police, an officer from the Rensselaer County Sheriff's office had already arrived on scene and broke up the party. No arrests were made.

Police confirm that a very large party took place in the rural vacation home, comprised of a main house and guest house in the Berkshire Mountains. Police said they have been interviewing underage people who were confirmed attendees of the party.

What, the officer didn't call for backup? That's small town cops for ya.
