It's true. The Republican Party has been hijacked by folks who've quite literally gone insane.

I'm not using the word metaphorically, either. Boehner, Bachmann, McConnell, Cruz, Santorum, DeMint, to name just a few, have utterly lost their grasp on the reality of the country and universe they inhabit. Crazy as landfill rats, all of them.

They're also unremittingly evil in their racism and relentless war on decency, compassion and rationality in America, in their compulsion to achieve ideological victory even if it leaves the country in ashes.

If American voters fail to perceive this, if they don't act to defend their country by utterly decimating the Republican Party in 2014 and 2016, the U.S. is well and truly fucked, and will richly deserve its fate.

People who give lunatics the run of the asylum ought not to be surprised when the motherfucker burns to the ground.

the hatred they show this President. Outright for the whole world to see hatred.
How did we get here?

Its possible its just that he's a democrat since they treated Carter and Clinton pretty much the same way. This time they are way way off the rails though. I question if racism isn't the underlying motive here.

In 2007, we should have refused to raise the debt ceiling unless the Bush tax cuts were repealed.
In 2008, we should have demanded an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan or no emergency bank bailout.

We had control of both houses in 2007-8. The GOP only controls one now. We should have undone every piece of shit Bush enacted during his Presidency under the threat of destroying America's economy. WTH it ended up getting destroyed anyway, it would have just pushed the time frame up a year or so.
