President Obama embraces the term "Obamacare".

I just heard a news broadcaster say this, so I checked and it is true-

"Once a term of derision used mostly by Republicans who have vowed to repeal the new health care law, Obama deployed it in both of his Colorado appearances on Wednesday.[august] "The Affordable Care Act -- also known as Obamacare," Obama said to applause from backers at the University of Denver. "I actually like the name," he added. "Because I do care -- that's why we fought so hard to make it happen." (this quote is from August)

I think it was a mistake.

I have been annoyed that all the media - including the so-called 'mainstream' and not right-wing - use the term all the time. Bec. I hadn't realized he had embraced it.
Now that Obama embraces it, I can see why it is used almost exclusively.

I think 'Affordable Care Act' is much better, bec.
a) it did not begin as an insult, as 'Obamacare' did.
b) it reminds people that 'affordable' is one of the good points

you'all probably already talked about it, but since I missed it, - what do you think?

with him. Republicans know this and are all of a sudden calling it "ACA" - they don't want success to be remembered as having anything to do with a Democratic President.

is the black man part. Way more than it simply being he's a Democrat President. I mean that is part of it, the dem part, but mostly the pukes are in a tizzy over a black man sitting in the oval office doing good by the average Jane's and Joe's of this country and they can't have that. Hell if the people see him as effective they might be encouraged to vote in another black person or heaven forbid a woman or worse yet a person with middle eastern blood coursing through their veins. This is life or death to the pukies and many of us see it for what it is.

Some Soviet official came up with it.

When Obamacare is fully implemented and everyone understands its benefits, the name "Obamacare" will be a huge benefit to Obama's legacy.
