My next door neighbor works at Navy Yard

He, his wife and his 19 month old son have been our neighbors for a year.

We knew that he was on travel on Monday, so we were relieved that he wasn't there.

His boss was killed. His assistant was cornered by the shooter, and he put a gun to her head. When he pulled the trigger, she heard a click. When he reached to reload, she got away.

If he had one more round, she would likely be dead.

There is no reason, other than mass murder where a civilian should be able to get off more than ten rounds before reloading.

That is all.

I knew his wife more than I knew him. Such a sad thing. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families of the victims.

They are far to afraid to give up so much as a single bullet and view such things as draconian measures against their freedoms and shit.

He took early retirement-tired of the bullshit and the commute to DC. We've both always said it was the smartest decision he ever made. We watched in horror as the shooting unfolded and we were both so thankful he wasn't there. We looked at the pictures of those killed (I had become good friends with one of his co-workers) but we didn't recognize any of the victims.

Killed in the navy yard...

I have known him since 2010

I went to for his memorial service/funeral on thursday..

The funeral home was packed...and the line to see him stretched out the door and round the block...

There wasn't one dry eye during one of the speeches by his longtime friend...
.he also said .."kisan ..you always claimed to be an independent...but we all knew..you were a Democrat"..every one in the audience burst out laughing..

Rest peacefully Kisan....Rest peacefully.
