Ok, here's the background. It's almost a week old at this point, but I just stumbled across it following the links that were not Miley Cyrus related. Then I stumbled across this dreck.

Which included these two videos. The first one is obviously a thinly disgusted allusion to rape, which is outrageous. The second is similar.
Why aren't there any stories out there about families looking forward to getting their first medical check ups? Why aren't there any stories about tweens who are going to see a Doctor for the first time outside of an Emergency room? Why does Time do an article on this crap without calling it absolute crap?
Instead of Journalist Protections, we should have Journalist responsibilities being debated. Freedom of the Press is intended to protect those who tell the truth.

(3,891 posts)I mean, we have the creepiest set of circumstances possible. In both videos, a guy slowly stands from under the bed dressed like Uncle Sam with an outrageous grin on his face.
Then the snap of the glove in the male video, and the gratuitous snapping open of the speculum in the female. There really should be a counter to this, but we won't do it.

(34,131 posts)And instead of a vile parody of Uncle Sam, it should be recognizable GOP candidates and leaders that appear ready to rape young people for wanting to get health insurance.

(3,891 posts)The stories from our side are easy, a woman getting her first GYN exam because she's never had insurance. A boy getting his first checkup, the nervous parent wondering if financial situations had caused some horrific disease or condition to take root and now it's untreatable. A student who finds that their annoying ailment is easily treatable, and the endurance they've had has been just because of the greed of the insurance companies.
The Ads would practically write themselves, but instead we sit and take it and instead give a couple half assed speeches on the subject.
