those disaffected or uninterested in politics that have decided to switch or lean toward the Democratic Party, protest or write letters to the Editor after having lurked or read Democratic Underground out there?
Edit for P.S. And if so what changed your mind, if anything in particular stands out?

(43,049 posts)one was dissed by the Republicans when after 20 years on the job they tossed him for someone else this year. He's essentially apolitical and very good at his job, to say nothing of being very popular, so we were glad to have him run with us. Ecstatic, actually.
The other one joined us a couple of years ago with pretty much the same attitude-- when she started to get active in town stuff, particularly environmental stuff, the Republicans pissed her off to no end so she came to us when she heard we were looking for candidates.
Now that you bring it up, I'll ask if they ever heard of DU.

(58,278 posts)If they read D.U. great, if they didn't it's possible that D.U.s message seeped through corporate media propaganda and in the case of the former was a moderating influence and the latter working keep environmental issues front and center despite corporate media's longtime reluctance to cover the issue.
I'm not suggesting D.U. was the only or primary influence by any stretch, but there may have been effect on some subtle level.
Peace to you.
