The Senate has schedule a vote for 1 pm ET Wednesday.
So, when do you think Cruz will stop talking and stop his faux filibuster
My guess is: about 10 minutes after midnight - and he will then continue to be a rotten pumpkin.
p.s. It would be great if folks would help keep this poll kicked - until this act of the Cruz circus is over

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) negotiated the terms of his lengthy speech Tuesday with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) a day early, according to Reid's spokesman.
-snip- (screenshot)
Reid did appear to have prior knowledge of Cruz's intention to launch into a speech, which is not quite a filibuster because a cloture vote will take place Wednesday regardless of what he does.
"I just want to make sure that everyone understands there is no filibuster today," he said Tuesday at roughly 10 am ET.

(36,974 posts)... at the bottom of the C-span screen they showed the names of the Senators that have given the longest Senate speeches/filibusters in history.
I think Rand Paul was listed as number four (he was the last one listed).
So, if Cruz out does Rand then Rand probably won't show up on the list anymore

(56,582 posts)Do you remember the first three? IIRC Strom's famous phone book filibuster wasn't actually that long by Senate standards (he just did it to rile up his base back home; he knew Dirksen had the votes to pass it).

(36,974 posts)When Wendy Davis filibustered in Texas the camera stayed on her the whole time.
But Cruz has been leaving for long periods of time and I think he is cheating by not standing up the whole time.
dkf
(37,305 posts)But yes, that's cheating. Of course it's not a filibuster anyway since the vote is tomorrow.

Lots of nutty stuff has been said during this publicity stunt - but I think Cruz reading 'Green Eggs and Ham' took the cake!
