What Dr. Seuss thought of Republicans.

In 1948, after living and working in Hollywood for years, Geisel moved to La Jolla, California. It is said that when he went to register to vote in La Jolla, some Republican friends called him over to where they were registering voters, but Geisel said, "You, my friends, are over there, but I am going over here (to the Democratic registration)."

people talking about Dr Seuss living up in the hills!

The late Ted Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, arrived in La Jolla in 1948 and built a home at the top of Mt. Soledad. It was here that he wrote the popular books that became children’s classics. He died in 1991 and the library at UCSD is named in his honor. His widow is one of several La Jollans that have been on the Forbes 400 list.

... about the Lorax movie when it came out, saying it was too liberal and tree-huggish, and that it was brain-washing young children to hate conservative values and all that nonsense?

(I know, I know -- when are conservative talking heads NOT whining about something like that!)

Anyhow, I'm always thinking, "Geez, Conservatives, if you're so bothered by stuff you deem in opposition to your values, why don't you go make your own movie about raping and pillaging and destroying the planet and let the free market decide?"

for middle school aged kids and they had pictures from some of his books on the walls. Though, you cannot search for Dr. Seuss there as the government hates it, and blocks all references on Google HK. I have no idea why. But the kids are smarter than that. I say, good for them.

Baidu has thousands of results just for the English version of "Dr Seuss" and I'm sure there would be more if you searched for the Chinese version of his name.

You can buy all of his books on the Chinese version of Amazon here:

And all of my Chinese friends with kids had Dr Seuss books to teach them English.
