... NOT even one female senator spoke on the senate floor for the whole 20+ hours!
Apparently female Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Deb Fischer, and Kelly Ayotte were either not asked to participate or declined to.
We need MORE females in the U.S. Senate on both sides of the aisle: 16 Democrats and 4 Republicans are NOT enough!

(4,713 posts)1. 1 male Dem from IL asked him a question & made
him look like even more of an ass. Apparently a lot of the female senators went to one of their homes for the evening. It was apparently a lot more productive.

(36,974 posts)4. Yep. I saw that part, it was Dick Durbin. He is pretty smart.

p.s. I hadn't heard anything about the female senators getting together yesterday.
Maybe it was one of the dinners that Senator Mikulski arranges every month or so for the gals?
Some info about the female senator's monthly dinners in Comment #3, here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023426277#post3

(4,713 posts)5. That sounds like it may be what it was.
Claire McClaskille (sp) was talking about on my way into work this morning. I'm sure it was a hell of a lot more productive.

(41,694 posts)2. I'd settle for about 30 more Senators with a brain.
And about 200 more in the House with the same.

I would like 500 plus administration geniuses that are not working on a promising career path in politics. Spread them out I don't care where they go. House needs a good cleaning.

(20,277 posts)8. I agree.
Doesn't matter to me if they are male or female. The fact that I am a woman does not guarantee another woman my vote.
