If they can't kill ACA, how long before they pass something to kill the Fed medical insurance program and push the workers into their state exchanges. The gov't could then pay $2k per worker (significantly less than the current employer contribution) as a penalty and save tons of cash annually.
They would get a twofer, reducing the budget deficit and screwing the fed workers. Of course they would exempt themselves and their staff (well at least themselves). So they would continue to get their subsidized benefits.
An added benefit is that a significant part of the fed workers are in the same red states as the majority of the military bases, so not only would they be out of pocket, they would be subjected to the same Christo-Sharia based medical restrictions imposed on the the population in those states.
The only bright spot is that such a move would eventually lead to single payer after the rioting subsided.

Members of Congress and their personal staffs must use the marketplaces; the administration has said the government will continue to pay up to 75 percent of the premium, as it does for workers in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. Other federal workers will stay in the FEHBP.

I'm getting fed up with this "I'm special" crap. Cut it out! Exempting yourself just pisses people off for all the right reasons.
