...pure & simple.
They refuse to pay their bills, the biggest single cause of which are the unfunded wars they started, and now they are attempting to rationalize their obstructionism by insanely blaming a healthcare plan that is the spitting image of the plan Republicans promoted in 1995.
They have promised for years to drown America in the bath-tub, & now they are attempting to do it.
Their is only one consistency to their actions: They despise America and everything this republic stands for.
These traitors have royally earned the contempt & rejection they will receive at the polls.

(3,891 posts)Are you done ranting now, or are you going for more in a minute? First, let's face facts. Most of the Republicans who are vocal about this are from districts that are absolutely safe seats. Short of getting pictures of those same Republicans having sex with a goat, we're not going to win the seat. It is the same for our side in many districts. Former Speaker Pelosi for example. Nobody is going to beat her at home, it's just not going to happen.
So ranting that the Republicans are going to face rejection at the polls, not exactly an observation worth much since you are apparently unaware of the gerrymandered districts which nearly guarantee that the Republicans will keep the House.

(3,891 posts)The Republicans aren't stupid. That's the same mistake we make every damned election cycle. I've watched it here for years, and every time I watch us jump up and down and cheer that this time we're going to win because the people are on our side. Every election we lose the House, and why? Because they have those districts sewn up.

So what cracking are we talking about? Because the grandstanding by the Rethugs has already worked from what I can see. The high regarding support is at 29, the low is 22. The high against is 46, the low in opposition is 37. So even if we take the higher number in support, we still have to have all the undecided break our way to win. Guess where most of those who oppose the ACA live? That's right, in those same districts you say are cracking against the Republicans.
The only hope we have of winning the house is to address the issues that matter most to the people. On those issues, we're powerless. We're stuck riding the river without a paddle. The number one issue is the Economy/Jobs. http://www.gallup.com/poll/1675/Most-Important-Problem.aspx
So what can we do to address this most important issue to most of the voters? What plan can we put forth? How about another Stimulus? No, I doubt we could get the Democrats to vote as a body for that one. Perhaps a long term plan to put a science based program on the front burner. No, we're not going to do Apollo again. So when it comes to the economy, we're left with telling everyone that things are going well.
We aren't going to take the House back. If anything, we're going to lose some seats. Possibly a couple in the Senate will go Rethug as well. So where is the joy? We know that Congress is polling slightly more favorably than Herpes. But look at the internals, where the politicians ask those who vote for them, and they do pretty good. Nobody in California would vote for Paul Ryan, but nobody in California gets to vote against Ryan anyway. So of course Paul Ryan polls horribly in California. Nancy Pelosi couldn't get elected in Georgia, but she's not running in Georgia, so who cares what Georgia thinks.
Here's the truth. Everyone wants other districts to vote out their own incumbent, while they vote their incumbent back into Congress. Their guy is doing OK, it's the other ones who are the problem.

(24,759 posts)The tea party terrorists are a clear and present danger to constitutional democracy and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And while they're at it, the Feds should freeze the assets of the accused until the trial is over, and immediate forfeiture of assets should be in order if they're found guilty.

(1,568 posts)and nothing will be done about it. There's nothing stopping them from being traitors, criminals, war criminals and corrupt. Not to mention the entire idea of the government shutting down is made for TV propaganda. The AHA will go into effect shutdown or not so the entire R freak show is pure propaganda, as usual.
