Its a bitch when the crystal ball goes foggy

The Anarchists (AKA Tea Party) have done their work and the Government will shut down. The only things that would cause this to be otherwise are if Reid backs down and let's the Republican's House bill come to a vote in the Senate or if the President backs down and allows the domestic terrorism to go forward. This is plain to see and it was explained clearly to every Republican in the House by every Democrat who spoke during the hour of debate before last night's final votes.

While my faith in both Senator Reid and the President has plummeted in the last several years I do have hope they will stand their ground on this one. So if I'm right the Government is going to shut down after midnight tomorrow.

Here is the thing I haven't heard one word about. What will it take to restart it? What happens next? If you're looking to our "Leaders" to so much as give a hint I think you've got one hell of a search ahead of you.

And you know what bothers me most? When the Government shuts down the Anarchists will have won. A shut down Government is no Government at all, and that is their ultimate goal.

if the shutdown happens Congressmen and Senators still get paid. These people live in a bubble where their actions don't affect them. You can bet your ass if they stopped getting their checks the shutdown would last about 2 seconds.

4. I honestly don't think that's true. Those rich corrupt bastards will come out of this just fine.

There are very few elected officials in our Government who need the paycheck. That in itself is a real problem.

They would rather us live in the Wild West, where every school child and adult is armed with a gun and Jesus flies across Iraq on the back of a dragon. Armed with a badass sniper rifle.

when the checks stop rolling in--payment for goods and services rendered, agricultural subsidies, and all the other little goodies they don't think about because they've become automatic over the years.

Even the Koch boys might pull the plug on the teabaggers if this goes on long enough.

Expect the stock market to lay a rotten egg tomorrow, by the way.

my iPad. I asked if the government was going to shut down and it answered 'yes'. Of course it only answers yes or no questions. I'm sure this is of no help whatsoever to you.

Last time around, it was Bob Dole's presidential ambitions that eventually overcame the Gingrich "revolutionaries" in the House. Of course, Dole had power.

Mitch McConnell could play the same role this time--but it's not going to happen anytime soon, it seems. It's 9 months until his primary challenge from the far-right, so he can't rein in the crazies for fear of losing their vote. But he can't really support them much either, because he would face a tough general election against his Democratic challenger in the fall. So it looks like he will bide his time until after the Republican primaries next spring, at least.

The problem is ... we can't have the government shut down for that long. I can't think of another solution. There needs to be a Republican who is willing to pull the Republican Party from the brink. And I just don't see it happening.
