have their membership card pulled. Let those right wing rejects from the intellectual pool stew. I have seen headlines where they are so confident that Obama will fold and give them what they want. I pray we are secure in knowing that he will not.

Perhaps those membership cards have an (R) after them, and they just want you to believe that they are (D)s.

you know who else is going to lose a lot of money? Local Governments, Pension Plans, Charitable Endowments, Charities - anybody who has money invested is going to take a pretty sharp hit as we go into a government shut down.

I still want Obama to stick to his guns. IF and only IF he does, can Democrats get the country back on track. Those same accounts will go back up even higher once the markets know there are no hostages for the tea crazies to take.

for the other. But there aren't any transactions. The money is just sitting in the accounts. I probably will never touch it. My plan, of course things can change, is that my heirs will get it. Not a whole lot of money in my accounts, but we have my husband's retirement too.

This is (supposed to be) a Democratic country. We the people would not agree or "vote" to have our government that (sometimes) represents the will of the (sometimes corporations) people shut down. Anyone on DU that is ok with a government shut down is an repuke infiltrator troll.

Giving in to the RW miscreants AGAIN is only a temporary stopgap, and in December when this comes up again they'll demand even more bullshit 'concessions'and you'll expect the Dems to give in again? And again? And again?

I think not. The only way to deal with children having a tantrum is to call their bluff & walk away.

It's the real Dems that will not give in to the repukes. It's the repukes that do not represent the majority of the people. If the Dems give in to the repukes then they are not representing the majority of the people. No real Dem would do that. It's not the Dems who will be shutting down the government ...it's the repukes.
