The real problem is the insurance rate rip-offs. My daughter lost her job about 2 years ago. She has did not draw unemployment or get any assistance from the government. She has been scraping by doing free lance jobs and dog sitting and selling on Ebay. By the time she makes her house payment, pays for utilities and pays her $325 a month medical insurance premium, she is flat out broke. My husband and I have had to help her so she can have food on the table and gas in her car. With the ACA, her monthly insurance will run about $79. That will free up a lot of money for her.

My nephew who is self employed and is a cancer survivor pays over $600 a month for his insurance. ACA will allow him to shop around for a cheaper rate because he can't be denied insurance because of pre-existing condition.

I don't know where Cruz gets that Texans are against ACA, he is probably talking to the old white hairs in the tea party who are on Medicare.

The GOP and conservatives keep playing that background theme every time they are in the public view. Even people who would benefit from ACA and desperately need it hate it because a black man got it passed. Your situation is very typical of how Obamacare would work.
