(8,020 posts)We tried to emigrate to Canada in 2003 .. away from the Dubya-cursed USA.
They turned us down... very politely, of course.
Too old... we'd be a burden on their health care system without having paid into it.
I think if we had a lot of money to invest they'd take us, so we're SOL.
Our Canadian friends just laugh and laugh about our country's foreign policy, economic policies, health care... you name it.
Sometimes I feel like the child of an alcoholic mother... I love her, but I wish she would get her shit together.

They have a great public system that actually takes care of their citizens.
I still don't understand the way people here complain about having to wait for care in places like Canada.
We have to wait longer here, for more expensive service that doesn't mean it is any better.
