I have finally had enough!!!

I have never been one to stir the pot. I tend to be the mediator and not the agitator. But I have finally had enough of my hick niece and her right wing talking points on facebook.
I have no one to blame but myself for marrying into that family but, in my defense I was young and the divorce has been final for 28 yrs.

Today was simply the straw that broke the camels back. No need to get into the particulars of her post except to say that she thinks that having an LPN license makes her an authority on the affordable care act. She claims that Obamacare is responsible for her patients being denied medications. And that rates will go up. So I pointed out to her that the Act does not take effect until Jan. So if anyone is denying services it is medicare or private insurance.
That I have checked my states website and my rates will be half of what they were through my employer, when I was employed. And that due to pre existing high blood pressure my only hope is the Oct.1 sign up.
She tells me she is paying 400 a month for her insurance. I told her that sucked and that it was a shame that her state had opted out of the Act because in my state it would only cost around 200 a month for someone her age.
I suggested that she seemed to be unclear on what the affordable care act was about and perhaps she should do some research.
So is she the exception? Or do most Republican voters believe the same? That somehow even though it hasn't taken affect yet, that somehow its affecting coverage now? And that death panels are already denying meds and care? Yes, she mentioned that as well.
Because if that is true we are all screwed! Because while you may be able to educate ignorance, you cannot fix stupid!!

BC/BS. At the dr. office last week they told her she had $1.77 balance from April. She said no I am fully covered, but I am sure it is something this new President has done. I will pay it anyway.

$1.77 you are griping about? "New" president?? Something HE has done????? Of course, I just sat there & stared straight ahead & ignored it while fuming inside. I know better than to try & enlighten her. Luckily, the receptionist didn't say a word in support of Mom's dumb remark.

they really are being fed this garbage; what is appalling is that in the supposed land of the free, people are still willing to believe not just propaganda, but silly propaganda
