Monday, September 30, 2013
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Obama's job performance. Forty-eight percent (48%) disapprove (see trends).
The latest figures include 29% who Strongly Approve of the way Obama is performing as president and 38% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9.
This is the presidents best job approval rating since early June.
Thirty-six percent (36%) of voters believe the government should require every American to buy or obtain health insurance, but 50% oppose the so-called individual mandate. Uninsured Americas are required to have health insurance by January 1, and failure to do so could result in sizable penalties.
With a federal government shutdown looming tonight at midnight, House Republicans are proposing a short-term budget that would delay the individual mandate a year, but Senate Democrats are unlikely to agree. Rasmussen Reports will release new numbers on the shutdown at 10:30 am Eastern today.
Government-mandated health care exchanges are scheduled to begin accepting insurance applicants tomorrow, but just 47% know whether their state has agreed to set up a health care exchange.

(5,066 posts)The founder of Ras has been kicked from company so It may be more honest now. They have also found Mcaulffie ahead In Virginia governor's race. They also have democrats ahead In generic ballet 42 to 38 percent. You should know that Is a change usually they always had Republicans ahead since obama has been president.

(12,504 posts)...I can't shake their past biased reportings. Personally I'm just cynical enough to think that they realize they have nothing to loose at this point in time with making Obama (and subsequently the Dems) look popular. It could be a ruse to set up "scared shitty polls" closer to election time.
Lets just wait until election time to get all giddy about their polls.
