The Senate rejected House Republicans' amendments to a government funding bill in a vote of 54 to 46 on Monday.
The Senate's vote to strip the provisions that would have delayed the Obama administration's healthcare reform law for one year and repealed the medical device tax means the House is once again in the spotlight on passing a bill that funds the government.
A simple majority was needed to defeat the bill.

(65,616 posts)I hope they lose the House and many seats in the Senate. People are waking up to the fact that it is the GOP and ONLY the GOP trying to shutdown the government, I've already heard a huge rumble locally (from people that voted R) about not getting their government paychecks in the mail. And this time they know exactly who is at fault. Foxnews cannot even hide this one.
Say goodbye to politics, GOP for a lonnnng time. You just lost your voting base.
