"A very brave man has died. John Arthur, who with his husband forced the Teapublican government of Ohio to recognize their same-sex marriage, has passed away. He will be listed as Mr. Obergefell’s husband on the death certificate, and the two will be buried side by side.

3. To continue the trend of telling folks what words are "wrong" to use...
Calling someone a warrior who has never gone to war is just wrong. Same thing when football players talk about going into "battle"
No you're not... No you didn't... No one was trying to kill you... You didn't have to try to take someone's life... It just ain't so... In no way does it demean whatever he accomplished in his life but that term just doesn't apply. |

4. There are wars that are not fought with weapons.
People battle addictions; they fight for equality;my mother was in a war against lung cancer for quite some years. And so on. But don't take my word for it, check the dictionary:

6. Wow, you don't know much about the gay rights movement or being gay do you?
There aren't many statistics on the exact numbers but in 2011 30 people were killed for being LGBTQ. I suspect there are more that aren't reported in that manner.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/02/anti-gay-hate-crimes-murders-national-coalition-of-anti-violence-programs_n_1564885.html Gay people get the shit beat out of us all the time for just being gay. It's still legal in most states to openly discriminate against us, fire us from our jobs, deny us housing... No, we're not fighting a war at all. ![]() There are many levels to war and killing someone or being killed doesn't always mean a war isn't being fought. |

7. Interesting...
I still disagree but obviously no one is gong to force you one way or another.
On an unrelated note, 28 folks died from lightning strikes last years as well. http://www.lightningsafety.noaa.gov/fatalities12.htm |
