President Obamas top aides considered replacing Vice President Joe Biden with Hillary Clinton in the run-up to the 2012 election, a new book reveals.
NBC News has confirmed that that then-Chief of Staff Bill Daley conducted polls to see how voters would react, but learned that it wouldnt impact Obamas chances of getting elected.
Clinton also denied that that there was any chance she would be vice president, telling Savannah Guthrie in a 2011 interview that it wasnt even in the realm of possibility.
But the Obama campaign did shut Biden out of strategy sessions, Andrea Mitchell reported on TODAY Friday, after he endorsed same-sex marriage on Meet the Press before a planned announcement by the president.

The book is Double Down...I found their Game Change book to be stenography-worthy...while I don't doubt Palin was as insane as they claim, it was clear Steve Schmidt was basically the entire source for the Palin part of that book, and it was his attempt to salavge his reputation because essentially he blew it in not vetting Palin...that said, I'm surprised this place isn't lousy with threads about this today!

It's certainly refreshing to read this stuff compared to the doom and gloom in the media lately.
