Its that Time of Year again.....Unless you live in Hawaii ...

Arizona (except for the Navajo Nation, which does observe daylight saving time), and the overseas territories of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Virgin Islands...The rest of us get to

items like my cellphone changes automatically. I have a Japanese clock on the wall, I still have to reset, other than that... its all good.

It gains a minute a week in summer and looses a minute a week in winter so I suspect it may keep perfect time in the bigger scheme of things. How cool is that?

Oh, smoke detectors.....Ours only goes off when I really, really burn toast and 'She Who Must be Obeyed' says that's not cooking.

... to just overnight being utterly black at the same time of day. My computer adjusts itself automatically, but I really wish the powers that be would abolish Daylight Savings Time.

I'm glad Hawai'i resisted. They're so close to the equator that day/night doesn't vary that much from season to season. Every so often someone gets the bright idea that Hawai'i should align itself with the Mainland for business purposes -- I still remember the newspaper article illustrating the problem with that idea with photos of kids waiting for the school bus in the pitch dark.
