Pardoning Snowden ... or something

I'd like to know how many folks here think that there is a pardon for Snowden in the future or maybe some other outcome.
I wonder how hard the NSA and other intelligence agencies would push back on any reforms or any leniency for Snowden.
This may well the the defining issue of Obama's administration.

Pardon. There is no choice if the US wants to get on the right side of this and correct the problem.

Pardon. Obama is assassinated by a lone gunman, acting alone. The NSA survives intact.

Pardon. Obama and Snowden are granted asylum in Germany.

The NSA, CIA and other spook agencies are permanent residents in DC. Presidents are only passing through.
The Viet Nam War (The Prez had no choice since we were attacked. Only the attack did not happen at all)
The Iraq War (The Prez was a victim of misinformation from 'curve ball')
Iran Contra (The Prez claimed ignorance of the entire affair and may well have been)

I am afraid that waiting for 2016 won't help.

It CAN happen here. It happens damn near everywhere at one time or another and it always seems unlikely until it's too late. Ask someone from Germany.
The power of such a technological strangle hold on information and transactions in our society is completely unprecedented.
The size and secrecy of the intelligence community is unprecedented and so are the laws that protect that community.
The misuse of such power in an agency that seems immune from accountability is already established fact.

...infiltrates Russia, disguises Snowden as Julian Assange and rushes him to Sweden whereupon he reveals himself to be an imposter as Greenwald swoops in on a hacked CIA drone (courtesy of Anonymous, natch) and flies him into the sunset.

The world returns to normal. Except for Rand Paul who claims credit for all of it.

So then I'm right about being wrong.
