His Jean-Luc Picard was such an interesting contrast to Shatner's James T. Kirk. More brash and flash with Kirk while Picard was far more cerebral. Brawn and then brains. LOVED it. And yeah, he was sexy as hell! Seems he still is!

Now, I think he is just amazing as a human being.

One of the funniest TV shows I ever watched was a Frasier episode he was in as a guest star. He was so funny.

but then again I was a nerd as a kid in the 90s and I watched a pretty decent amount of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I guess I'm getting off of the topic here, but I thought he was by far the best Star Trek Captain of them all. He was the most convincing.

Yet another reason to continue to like this guy.

The movie itself was ok, but Mr. Stewart was really funny and very touching as one half of a gay couple (paraphrasing; "That top... Fun! Last year....&quot .

that Kirk would be more fun, but that Piccard was the better leader, and the one we'd rather have on the bridge in battle.

I have nothing against Bakula - I thought he did a fine job. My wife and daughter loved him and Tripp.

I thought it was rotten of them to cut Enterprise's run so short.

But I think I'm one of the few who actually loved that one.

I should be up front and honest though - my TV taste has been called into question by one of my co-workers. I love the show Justified and he said he watched the first season (based on my recommendation) and thought it was one of the worst things he's ever watched. Personally I think he's insane but that may just be my mind justifying my position.

http://www.labour.org.uk/patrick-stewart-why-i-am-labour

Are you still a Labour supporter?
My upbringing, my childhood, my parents' lives, the work that they did, the conditions they worked in, how we lived - all of these things conditioned me to a way of seeing the world. It was, and continues to be, a view of equality of individuals, fairness in our national life. I have always passionately believed that these are aspects of a just society that can only be achieved under the Labour Party.

Would you like to see Labour taking more left-wing positions?
To say "left-wing" would be a simplification of what is needed. I would like to see the party be more aggressive in its policies with regard to the recession and getting the economy stabilised.

What do you think of the coalition?
I have nothing but contempt for the expression "we're all in this together". That's bullshit - we're not all in this together. The members of the cabinet are not in the same position as the people who live near me in Bermondsey. What we have seen is not so much a response to a global crisis but Tory policies as usual, masquerading under the claim of necessity. I find the very fact of the coalition to be a cynical piece of manipulation.

Can theatre have a political impact?
It must have. It is the duty of the arts, wherever it is possible and appropriate, to address political issues.
