KKK Imperial Wizard on Mom Who Dressed Kid as Klansman: ‘There’s No Respect’
Apparently, Klanny’s KKKostume Shop is not open to (white) men, women, and children of all ages!
Jessica Black of Craigsville, Virginia, drew national ire when she dressed her son as a Klansman for Halloween. She feels there is nothing wrong with the costume, or the KKK: ”It’s suppose to be white with white. Black with black. Man with woman and all of that.” Black’s son was innocent in his reason for wanting to wear the costume: he saw it in Fried Green Tomatoes, and thought it was cool.
While Black may love the KKK Bradley Jenkins, Imperial Wizard of the United Klans of America, is not very fond of the Blacks’ actions. In fact, as laughable as this may seem, he feels that the insensitive costume has ruined the Klan’s reputation. According to Jenkins, ”There’s no respect for the Klan.” Jenkins feel that the Blacks went too far with their idiotic Halloween stunt. He says that because of them, “People look at the United Klan as a hate organization. … We don’t hate anyone. Hate is such a strong word.” That’s right…the Klan is looked at because of a kid’s costume, rather than a tradition of hatred.

Does anyone else find that statement to be almost ironic? I wonder if the writer saw that and was like omg I have to use that in the story.
